Product Overview: The Newall DP8 Digital Sending Unit is a two-axis digital readout (DRO) controller for lathes and similar machine tools. It receives position data from linear or rotary encoders on the machine axes and processes these signals for display on a corresponding DP8 display unit. The unit communicates via RS-422 serial interface and features battery backup to retain position data during power loss. It is commonly used in manual lathe retrofit applications where precise position feedback is required for X and Z axis machining operations.
