CSL Part Number: 115913
Product Overview: The Westinghouse 4809A18G01 P/Brake Signal Generator is a control module used in railway braking systems to generate precise current signals for propulsion and braking control. It outputs a variable "P" (propulsion) signal ranging from approximately 20 to 100 milliamps based on an input voltage command, plus a discrete brake signal output of approximately 100 milliamps when activated. The module operates from a nominal 30-volt DC supply and includes internal voltage regulation, feedback control circuitry, and a 109 Hz AC reference signal for the P-loop. It is commonly found in transit rail vehicle control cabinets where it interfaces with master controllers to manage acceleration, coasting, and braking functions.
