BRONCO DC Series

Overview

The BRONCO DC Series is a family of DC motor controls, primarily manufactured by SECO under the Bronco II name. These drives provide variable speed control for DC motors rated from 1/4 to 2 horsepower and use SCR-based power control with built-in rectification. Many units feature Start-Stop, Run-Jog, and Auto-Manual switches along with an adjustable speed potentiometer, and some models offer NEMA 4/12 enclosure protection for dusty or wet environments.

Applications

Products in this series are commonly used in paper handling and paper processing machinery, as well as other industrial equipment requiring reliable, adjustable DC motor speed control. The series spans a range of models, including single-quadrant drives, panel-mounted controllers for permanent magnet motors operating at 90V or 180V, and a dedicated torque control variant.

The series consists mainly of SECO 160-family models, with one product from Wallace & Tiernan.
