EA50 Series Medium Torque Actuator

The EA50 Series Medium Torque Actuator is a family of electric rotary actuators from Barber-Colman (also supplied under Eurotherm) used for automated control of dampers, valves, and louvers in HVAC and industrial process applications. These non-spring return units use motor-driven gearing to deliver precise rotary motion, and typically incorporate potentiometer or slidewire feedback for position control.

The series spans multiple models — including the EA51 through EA58 — that differ primarily in rotation angle and stroke timing. Common configurations provide 90-degree rotation with adjustable cycle times such as 12 seconds or 40 seconds, while other variants offer 180-degree travel at 80 seconds. Torque and feedback characteristics vary by model to suit different end-equipment requirements.
