MELSEC F1 / F2 PLC

The MELSEC F1 / F2 PLC series is a family of compact programmable logic controllers and expansion hardware originally offered under Mitsubishi's MELSEC F line. The products in this series are primarily extension units that interface with F1 and F2 base units to expand a controller's input/output capacity for systems requiring more I/O points than the base unit provides.

This series is supplied by Mitsubishi and Furnas. The Mitsubishi units use F2-series part numbers (for example, the F2-20ES-UA1, F2-40ER-UA1, and F2-60ES-U), while the Furnas units carry alternate part numbers for equivalent extension hardware. The range covers a variety of I/O configurations across relay and other output types.

These extension units are commonly found in paper processing, packaging machinery, and light manufacturing automation, where compact PLC systems handle discrete control tasks.
