MELSEC F2 PLC

The MELSEC F2 series is a family of compact programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used for discrete manufacturing and industrial automation. The series is primarily manufactured by Mitsubishi, with a number of equivalent units also branded by Furnas. These controllers are found in manufacturing automation and process control equipment.

The series is organized by I/O count, with 20-point, 40-point, and 60-point base units and programmable control models. Output types vary by model and include relay, solid-state relay (SSR), and transistor outputs, allowing them to switch a range of loads such as motors, solenoids, and other electromechanical devices. Extension units are available to add I/O capacity.

Model designations follow the Mitsubishi convention, where suffixes indicate output type (MR for relay, MS for SSR, MT for transistor) and supply voltage variants (such as UA1). Furnas-branded equivalents use 96-series part numbers.
