SMA Super-Mite-A Power Supply

The Super-Mite-A (SMA) series is a family of linear power supplies manufactured by LH Research. These units convert AC line voltage into regulated DC output for use in industrial control systems, automation equipment, and DC motor drives.

Models in this series, such as the SMA81-5 and SMA11-1/115, share a common Super-Mite-A design and are offered in configurations that include 115 VAC input variants. One documented model, the SMA81-5, provides a 24VDC, 63-amp output using thyristor-based half-wave rectification, ceramic power resistors for current limiting, and large electrolytic capacitors for filtering.
