Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge
Overview
The Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge series comprises portable instruments used for non-destructive measurement of material thickness in industrial applications. These gauges use ultrasonic pulse-echo technology to measure wall thickness from a single side of a material, without requiring access to both surfaces. They measure metals, plastics, and composites and are commonly applied in corrosion monitoring, quality control inspection, and maintenance assessment.
The series is centered on Krautkramer Branson gauges — including the DM2, DM4, DM5, and related display and control units — with additional instruments from Stresstel and Waygate Technologies. It also includes supporting ultrasonic accessories such as probes and probe cables.
Products in This Series
- Thickness gauges and controls: Portable display and control units, including the DM-2LCD, DM2E, DM4, DME, DM5E, and the Stresstel T-MIKE II.
- Ultrasonic accessories: Contact probes and probe cables that interface with the gauges.
Applications
These instruments are used across industrial settings for tasks such as pipeline inspection, storage tank assessment, metal fabrication, structural inspection, and corrosion monitoring in petrochemical and manufacturing environments.
