Model 85 Transformer Fan Control

The Model 85 Transformer Fan Control series consists of Square D Life-Gard transformer temperature controllers. These devices monitor transformer winding or oil temperature and automatically activate cooling fans when preset temperature thresholds are exceeded, protecting power transformers from thermal damage.

The controllers accept inputs from temperature sensors and provide relay outputs to activate cooling equipment at programmable setpoints. The series includes the base Model 85 along with H80, H115, and H150 configurations, which correspond to different temperature setpoint arrangements.

Applications

These controllers are used to manage forced-air cooling on power transformers, helping maintain safe operating temperatures and extend transformer service life.
