Pacemaster 1

The Pacemaster 1 series comprises fractional-horsepower DC motor controls manufactured by Cleveland Machine Controls. Rated for approximately 0.25 to 2 HP, these drives regulate armature and field voltage to control the speed and torque of DC brushed motors. They typically operate from 115VAC or 230VAC input and use SCR-based power conversion to produce regulated DC output to the motor armature. Common end applications include paper processing, converting, and handling machinery, along with other industrial equipment requiring variable-speed DC motor control.

The series is available in several configurations, from bare control boards and drive cards to chassis-mounted and enclosed drives. Options across the range add features such as integral fusing, reversing contactors for bidirectional operation, dynamic braking resistors, armature protection, adjustable jog, and tachometer feedback for closed-loop speed regulation.
